By my rough calculation we have suffered up to fifty sets of temporary traffic lights since January in Cross Hills. Good job it's a quiet backwater for traffic!πŸ˜‰

Its safety down station rd needs sorting out hgv using it as a short cut when its 7.5 ton nearly smashed into my car last week it needs sorting OUT

Maybe they could put up some instructions too for those who don't seem to know how to use it!

and nothing in the local paper to say road works again ? i have told drystone radio who normaly but it out

When?

Just a warning, the level crossing at Crosshills near the Co-op petrol station has a large pot hole, It has popped my tyre and at least two others today. The police have been informed and they are passing the details on to the appropriate department. I was traveling from Steeton towards Skipton. Please be careful.

The work was completed as planned and boxes repainted. Hopefully it will last. If there are problems the parish council will raise these with the appropriate agency.

Yes, damaged my alloy on Monday pm. Nearly spoilt the day as I was going in to Skipton for a special lunch and ended up with a deflating tyre, with a 3 year old in the car. I’ve requested a claim form from Network Rail, not sure yet how much the alloy will cost me let alone the tyre.

Photo update! At last, bye bye pot holes... it’s going to be a noisy night at Station House but the work is very welcomed!

It’s a shame it took Police involvement to get someone to come and temporarily fix it this evening. I’m still sceptical about it all being done this weekend as there have been no signs out as yet and there usually is by now.

North Yorkshire Highways Agency don’t say that. I spoke to them yesterday and they didn’t know when it was going to be repaired. Maybe it’s a different department.

And there’s another one at the other side just the same size too

Work completed so far on the level crossing. New rubber dampers between the rails. Sounded a bit quieter when cars went over.
We didn't hear any noise last night.

The road either side is expected to be dealt with by Railtrack this month as part of the work being done each weekend.

looking good but the road needs sorting

Apparently they aren’t sorting the potholes... I was told a couple of months ago they would be so it’s disappointing.

Iam so impressed no one can now hear the cars going over said all the people driving over the mess n pot holes all over the road at either side of this and damaging all the cars 😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑

Was disappointed today that the potholes hadn’t been done at the same time - when are they going to be done ??

Still the craters not filled in, lets hope thats next.

Who is responsible for fixing the road? Railtrack or Highways?

But it would make so much sense to do the pot holes at the same time , πŸ™„πŸ™„

Road works at the level crossing in cross hills, at last!!!

3 weekends of closures, not just overnight by the look of it.

Could be a bit noisy this time and they will do their best to keep it to a minimum

Yes, we will all have to find another route to Sheep Day. Not a great example of co-ordination between local authorities that,

Good planning on sheep day not

I reviewed the crossing today and there isn't any sign of improvement in the surface despite the short closure the other weekend. We continue to follow this up with rail services. We are also continuing to follow up with highways the issues on station road.

yep taken there time doing it like hitting your head on a wall

Sort weight restriction out on station rd!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sort the crossing barriers down time out worst in the country!..and yes HGV’s using station road as a rat run all down to the crossing!!

TDY - lubies, the coffee shop and Thornton's are opening specially to provide refreshments.
Gallagher's is also open and I believe 22 the square have a fun packed time planned.
Have a great day tomorrow supporting the cyclists and the TDY on the final day.
